WHOA! what a joy to check back into the job site after being away for a week. Ellen and I were in Missoula, Montana at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival
. It was the world premiere of a movie called Bending Space: Georges Rousse and the Durham Project that we were involved with. We saw great movies and had a fabulous time snoeshoeing. Lots more steel and framing photos on the photo galleries at the right. The south end walls of the main pod are now framed up including lower bath, study, closets, and pantry. You can see the parapet wall above for the roof terrace. This comes right off of both the master bath and the gallery for both a public and private entry. Nothing like seeing the real thing to be able to visualize what is
bigger than I thought (living-dining area) and what is smaller than I thought (all closets and pantry). We are getting the first chance (other than electronically) to see what our window views will be. The stairs to the basement and utility room are in and of course not quite on a right angle.
I can't describe the feeling of walking around on that deck and visualizing our new home. You can start to see how the house with bridge will wrap our favorite beech tree.
I would be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to our friend Ray Meeks and his family who we visited while in Montana. Ray is a brilliant photographer with a show up currently at Candace Dwan Gallery in NYC. Also if you are ever in Missoula check out the best B&B in Montana and meet the wonderful Blossom!
