Blessing the Land

Ellen and I wanted to have a little ceremony to bless the land and make a sacred space for our new home. There is a beautiful old beech tree on the North side of the land.  We decided early on to wrap the house around it.  The ceremony was at the base of this majestic tree.  It was simple and private ritual but it felt very much like we were welcome here.  We made a little altar and said a prayer for the realization of our dreams and another prayer to not hit any rock during excavation!
