It's New Year's Resolution time and no better time to catch up on a whole bunch of overdue blog posts of past goings on at Cassilhaus. I've said it before but one of our favorite nights of the year is our annual tradition of hosting an American Dance Festival post-performance dinner party for one of the dance companies. July 2015 was our 7th and we have had a different company each year. This year it was the Wang Ramirez company. Honji Wang, German born of Korean parents and Sébastien Ramirez, French Born of Spanish parents, gave a magical performance called Monchichi (2011) that seemed to defy the laws of gravity.

We fell in love immediately after having them for dinner at the house.
We joined them again in downtown Durham for the after party after their performance the following night.
I have it on good authority that Wang Ramirez have been invited back for this years festival and we will get to see another of their amazing dance pieces. We are very hopeful that they can stay with us during their time here .
