It turns out the best painters spray EVERYTHING these days. Who knew paint brushes were out of style? As a result every surface including the windows in our house are covered in paper or plastic--all the views are gone and the house feels claustrophobic. I think its going to be like that for a month.
They are focusing on the guest pod and the gallery right now while the trim guys have moved into the main pod. Myron put on his carpenter hat last week to help Dwayne and Steve with the decorative ceiling in the main entry. They built a light cove for a low voltage lighting track.
They also got the screened porch framed.
In other news the first of the glass railings in the library was installed.
The two 4'x8' solar panels are now up on the roof for our solar hot water system. The tanks and heat exchanger have been installed in the mechanical space in the basement.
All of the tile work has been finished up in the master bath. The floor is a light 24"x24" travertine.
We used the 1"x3" Tau Corten mosaics from our friends at Mid-Atlantic Tile Distriubutors on the tub filler. This and the shower bench have a 3/4" travertine slab top.
September is the last full month of construction and it is going to be crazy busy. Painting will be going on all month along with electrical, HVAC, and plumbing trim out. They start building the carport and doing all of the final grading and driveway work in two weeks and tomorrow they start the exterior deck railings and cable system. Wish us luck..........
